Weddings at the Garrison

As you begin the next chapter in your love story, we aim to create a beautiful, stress-free setting for you and your loved ones to make memories that will last a lifetime.

The venue is able to accommodate larger weddings in an event tent on the property, as well as smaller weddings in the Fiske Barn from May to October.

The venue rental includes use of a wedding ceremony space, as well bridal suites for getting ready.

General Questions

How many people can the event tent and barn accommodate?
The event tent can accommodate up to 125 guests, and the Fiske barn can accommodate up to 80. In some circumstances we may be able to accommodate additional guests, but fees may apply. Contact us to discuss your needs for your event.

When will I have access to the venue?
When you schedule a Saturday wedding with us, you will have the option to access the venue during during designated times on Friday afternoon, throughout the day on Saturday, and Sunday morning for final pick-ups and cleaning. Our staff will be available during designated times, and you will not be permitted to access the property when staff are not present.

What services are included?
We will be able to provide the tent, tables, chairs, and toilet trailer. We are also able to provide access to a limited set of decorations. We are unable to provide catering, bartending, DJ, or photography services. We do not have required vendors for these services, but our staff is happy to suggest some local vendors. We are able to provide use of limited equipment that vendors may use during the event, which our staff will discuss with you. Please note that we can arrange climate control for the tent, but it may incur additional fees.

How far in advance can I book an event?
Museum events take first priority, after which we schedule weddings and other events at the Garrison House. Thus, we can only confirm dates for private weddings and events no more than 12-18 months in advance.

Are there any parts of the venue property that will not be accessible?
Renters and their guests will have restricted access to the property, which our staff will clearly designate during venue tours and at the time of your scheduled event. This is strictly enforced to ensure protection of the museum exhibits, which are not available at any time during the venue rental.

Are there noise restrictions?
Local ordinances require that loud noise ceases by 10 p.m., and we will ensure compliance with these regulations during your scheduled event. Our staff is happy to provide more detail regarding these policies during a scheduled tour.

Is the venue space accessible for people with disabilities?
If you or your guests require accommodations, please contact us and we are happy to discuss options. Most event areas are accessible, but we can make arrangements to address your specific needs. There is a wheelchair accessible bathroom on the property.

Am I allowed to decorate the venue?
Of course! Some areas of the venue will have restrictions on the types of decorations that can be used or how they can be applied. Our staff will assist you to ensure that the venue is protected, while your event is beautifully decorated! We are also happy to offer a limited set of decorations that you may use for your event.

Is photography allowed at the venue?
Of course! Photography is permitted in all spaces that are made available for your event. We do not permit photography in museum exhibit spaces, which will not be accessible during your scheduled event.

Are there any options to purchase wedding favors?
We have a selection of wedding favors for your guests that align with the theme of the venue. These are available for additional purchase.

Are there hotels nearby for out of town guests?
Yes! There are several hotels available in Chelmsford and in neighboring towns. Our staff are happy to provide some suggestions for hotels.
